Senator / Presidential Candidate John Edwards Comes to Malibu

Jason Adams co-sponsored a fundraising event for North Carolina Senator (D) and Presidential candidate John Edwards. The event was held at Malibu's own Allegria Restaurant and several local attorneys and political notables were in attendance.

The event was co-sponsored by fellow Pepperdine University School of Law graduate Blair Durham. Also sponsoring was Blair's father, attorney and Malibu resident, Bart Durham. Adams is a partner of the law firm of Domine Adams, LLP. The Durhams are both partners of Nashville's most notable personal injury law firm, The Law Offices of Bart Durham.

The fundraising event was held as an effort to support the 2004 presidential campaign of Senator John Edwards. John Edwards was born in the small town of Robbins, North Carolina, where he worked alongside his father in a local textile mill for a good part of his youth. Edwards was the first person in his family to attend college and subsequently, law school. After graduating from law school with honors, John dedicated his legal career to representing families and children hurt by the negligence of others.

In 1998, John took this commitment into politics to give a voice in the United States Senate to the people he had represented throughout his career. In Congress, Senator Edwards quickly emerged as a champion for the issues that make a difference to American families: quality health care, better schools, protecting civil liberties, preserving the environment, saving Social Security and Medicare, and reforming the ways campaigns are financed.

The fundraising event was a great success and Senator Edwards was grateful to the people of Malibu for making him feel welcome during his visit.
